The apartment itself was well-equipped, we found it in an extremely clean building...

Unbeatable location not far from the visitor center, several good restaurants and Petra, and the room was impressive. The owner met us with warm welcome. Great that we could use wake-up service when wanted, and really enjoyed 2 single beds available. Had a bidet. Food for breakfast was local!

Having access to a bidet made me feel more comfortable and ensured I could maintain good hygiene during my stay.
Although the room had a private bathroom with a bidet, I personally did not find the tea/coffee maker and minibar necessary. Others may still enjoy these amenities, but as a vegetarian/vegan, I didn't make use of them.

Our stay at this hostel was an absolute blast! The value for money was unbelievable, and the host Mahmoud was a total rockstar. He was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and made our experience unforgettable. The homemade meals at the hostel were better than any restaurant we could find, and Mahmoud went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. The room was clean and quiet, and we loved the attention to detail in the furniture and decor. The common area was cozy and perfect for hanging out and meeting fellow travelers. We wish we had more time to check out the rooftop terrace, but we were too busy exploring Petra. The bed could have been more comfortable, but the hospitality and overall experience overshadowed any minor inconvenience. We definitely made a friend for life in Mahmoud and cannot wait to see him again. We highly recommend staying here for an amazing time!

Carefully crafted, cozy rooms with homemade wooden furniture. Cute cacti with inspirational messages. Relaxing common area and terrace. Convenient private bathroom with adjustable shower. Comfortable beds with individual lights and outlets, plus USB ports. Friendly owner eager to share Petra insights. Easy parking and uphill walk to local restaurants. Great stay, wish I had time for the rooftop view!

My recent trip to Petra was made even more enjoyable thanks to my stay at the charming Wooden House. For three nights, Mahmoud, the fantastic host, went above and beyond to ensure my comfort. The location was ideal, away from the main hotel area but still convenient for parking and visiting Petra. Mahmoud provided delicious meals, and he even helped me find a new phone cable when mine stopped working. The rooms were clean and cozy, and Mahmoud's warm hospitality truly made this my favorite hotel in Jordan.
Would recommend this hotel.

The stay was unique and gave us a glimpse into the local way of living within a family. The dinner offered was delicious and prepared by the family, allowing us to enjoy the best views of the city. Additionally, the host, Mahmoud, was incredibly helpful and provided us with insights into the Jordanian lifestyle. Definitely recommended for an authentic experience.
One of the shared bathrooms had a slight unpleasant smell. The fan in the room, while effective, was a bit noisy when blowing air, which caused some discomfort during sleep at night.

The value for money at Petra Wooden House was excellent - the room was big, clean, and beautifully decorated by Mahmoud, the friendly and hardworking host who made sure everything was spotless and attended to our every request. The location was also perfect, just a stone's throw away from the entrance to Petra.
The morning meal could have been better with a wider variety of options.

The room I stayed in had a private bathroom with a bidet, which was a nice touch. It made me feel like I was being pampered and added a touch of luxury to my stay. As someone who values cleanliness, having a bidet was a great bonus.
The only thing I liked less about my stay was that the triple room didn't have a balcony. Personally, I enjoy having outdoor space to relax and unwind, so I missed having a balcony in that room.
